What’s in a barbecue? Have you ever thought about the cultural significance of this seemingly insignificant even? Well, here in the North Caucasus, two foods in particular hold incredible cultural value: barbecue—here called “shashlik,”—and tea—or “chai.” In Episode 7, we walk you through explanation, analysis, and of course stories about these two popular pastimes.
